Job Role:
The IBM Integrations Lead Architect (Center of Excellence) is accountable for establishing and managing an Integration Center of Excellence within a public sector organization. This role is crucial in driving the strategy, standards, and practices for a new integration platform and systems integration, ensuring seamless communication between various systems and applications. The lead is responsible for ensuring that integration projects align with business goals and technology strategies, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and agility. The role involves providing leadership to our Integration CoE, managing the diverse needs of a wide range of stakeholders, and overseeing a cross-functional team of experts in API integration, security, and governance to deliver value. Additionally, the lead will establish and monitor processes using various KPIs for Continuous Improvement. Extensive experience in change management, Integration Solution architecture, design, and development is required. Must possess 3 years of experience in defining governance processes, developing playbooks and templates, and managing cross-functional integration teams.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive integration strategy that supports the organization’s goals, and digital transformation initiatives.
Standards and Best Practices: Establish and promote integration standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistent and high-quality integration solutions.
Governance and Compliance: Oversee governance processes to ensure that integration projects comply with internal policies and public sector regulator’s guidelines.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of integration specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure that integration solutions deliver business value.
Training & Development: Prepare the structure of training programs, deliver internal training sessions & awareness sessions, and manage a community of practitioners.
Technology Oversight: Evaluate and recommend integration technologies and tools that align with the organization’s architecture and technology roadmap.
Project Oversight: Manage the portfolio of integration projects, ensuring solutions alignment with approved integration best practices & standards, timely delivery within budget, and adherence to scope.
Performance Measurement: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess solution compliance with standards and best practice, and the effectiveness of integration solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Operating a Center of Excellence: Proven track record of 2 years of experience in establishing and running a Center of Excellence and increasing maturity of the organization.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Change Management in IT, designing and implementing different APIs (SOAP, REST or GraphQL), working with various Integration patterns, with a proven track record in leading integration projects and initiatives.
Knowledge of Integration Technologies: Must have demonstrable 8-10 years of experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Integration, SDLC, Enterprise Systems Integration, DevOps processes & tooling, and implementation of Integration Solution standards.
Knowledge of Cloud Service Provider: 3-5 years of experience in managing and supporting Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, as well as deploying and supporting integration platforms on cloud service providers is essential.
Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and processes to identify integration opportunities and challenges.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to new technologies and rapidly changing business environments.
